Raising money for Just A Drop

Just a Drop is a water-aid charity which aims to reduce child mortality in developing countries caused by polluted water diseases like dysentery, cholera and diarrhoea. Currently over 1.4 million children die every year because of water-related diseases. That's around one every 20 seconds. We always look for practical and pragmatic solutions and provide communities with access to clean, safe water on a sustainable basis be it by building wells, hand pumps, water pipes and drainage systems or carrying out health and sanitation programmes. That way being healthier, people can soon take charge of their very own lives through local agriculture, employment and education. In doing so, we restore their overall pride and their sense of wellbeing. With 11 years field experience in 29 countries, we have undertaken projects that have made a real, tangible difference to the lives of hundreds of thousands of what were some of the most desperate people across the world. With your support we will continue to do the same for many many more.

Hi there

We, the team at Dubai Tourism in London, are proud to announce that we are now a corporate supporter of "Just a Drop."

This is a charity that raises money to build wells, install boreholes and hand pumps, and carry out sanitation projects in some of the poorest parts of the world, saving lives as a result.

We have committed to raise £7,000 which will be used to fund a Just a Drop project in the Panjsher Province of Afghanisan. The local comprehensive health centre urgently require a fresh water supply for the mother and baby delivery room which will serve 8,000 local people

In the Panjsher Valley 80 out of 5,500 pregnant women die of complications every year, so special facilities are vital in the fight to bring down the mortality rate of both mothers and babies.

Over the course of the next year, each of us at Dubai Tourism will be undertaking a host of different activities and challenges to raise the funds. So far, activities include running the Dubai Marathon, staying overnight in a haunted house, attempting the Three Peak Challenge, bungee jumping, and many more. We will upload pictures onto our photo gallery as we progress.
