Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far!

Hi everyone, and welcome to my fundraising page!

In case you didn't know, I will be competing in the NJ State Olympic Triathlon this summer. This will mean I will be swimming 1.5km in the Mercer Park lake, before hopping on my bike to cycle 40km before finishing with a 10km run - should be fun, right? As most of you will know, this isn't going to be easy for me, but there is a very important reason for me doing the triathlon, and this is where you guys come in.

Because, you see, I will be raising money in sponsorship for two very important charities: one in the UK and one in the US. You are currently on the UK site but if you wish to donate on the US site for KEEN New York (or both!) then please visit my firstgiving page here: http://www.firstgiving.com/dwtri .

Here in the UK I am raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and more specifically for a Tribute Fund set up in honour of my Granda - Robin Wilson. MND is a horrible disease that affects your motor neurones, the cells that control muscle activity such as speaking, walking, breathing, swallowing and general movement of the body. The MND Association helped my Granda with his battle with this disease that ultimately took his life on November 17th 2008, almost exactly a year after his diagnosis.

As many of you know, my Granda was a very active person and he managed to remain active as much as possible while fighting MND; it is this determination that has inspired me to complete the triathlon in his honour.

So please try and support me if you can, any amount you can donate will be very much appreciated. The MND Association can use this money to fund research into battling this disease, providing services for those fighting the disease and much needed support for their families. For more information on the MND association you can visit their website here MND Association.

As an added incentive, I will be holding a host of prize draws. To enter these draws you simply have to donate £10 or more, and mention the draw you wish to be entered into in the comment line of your donation. The current prize draws are as follows:
SPORTS: Signed photo of GB olympic rower Sir Steve Redgrave, signed photo of GB olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, signed KEEN sports bag by US olympic rower Kate Mackenzie.
BROADWAY: Signed Playbill by Broadway cast of Wicked (Dee Roscioli, Katie Rose Clarke, Tim Britten Parker, Rondi Reed, PJ Benjamin, Andy Karland, Jenny Fellner), signed Playbill by Broadway cast of Next To Normal (Alice Ripley, J Robert Spencer, Kyle Dean Massey, Jennifer Damiano, Adam Chanler-Berat, Louis Hobson, Michael Berry, Meghann Fahy, Jessica Phillips, TIm Young), signed Playbill by Broadway cast of Phantom of the Opera.
BOOK: Signed copy of Maskerade by Terry Pratchett.
COMPUTER: Signed copy of Plants vs. Zombies by PopCap Games.

On top of all these prizes, I have an extra signed playbill by the cast of the Pulitzer Prize winning Next To Normal (thanks to the awesome Kyle Dean Massey) so anyone who donates any amount whatsoever will be entered into a bonus draw to win this!

That's all for now, please keep checking in to see how my progress is going.
