Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My 14th Great North Run will be in aid of Christian Aid's Sierra Leone Malaria Control project.

Malaria kills a child in Africa every 45 seconds and is responsible for a third of all child deaths in Sierra Leone. The disease is entirely preventable yet only one in three children in Sierra Leone sleeps under a bed net.

Christian Aid partners in Ghana have already helped people stay healthy by sleeping under treated bed nets. With your support, this can happen in Sierra Leone too.

The first Anglican priest who I worked with was from Sierra Leone so I have a particular affinity for this country. Our church has pledged to raise £500 to provide a volunteer in Sierra Leone with the specialist training, equipment and support that they need to work for one year. Will you help and support this effort?

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Christian Aid will appreciate your generosity, as do I, but most of all those threatened by malaria.

Thank you.
