In November I complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the Elvive shampoo ad which uses Cheryl Cole, even though she uses hair extensions. This story was picked up in the Sunday Times and I was asked to write articles for two newspapers about why I thought it was wrong that a woman with fake hair was selling shampoo.

The story created a lot of interest and I thought it might be a way of raising awareness of the Little Princess Trust which gives wigs and hair pieces to children who have lost their hair through cancer treatments or alopaecia.  These kids deserve the chance to look like Cheryl or even Simon Cowell.

So instead of buying Elvive for £2.65 why don't you spend the same amount on making a donation to the Little Princess Trust.  Strike a blow for truth in advertising and make a sick child feel better at the same time.

I am donating fee for newspaper piece as a starter.

Thank you

Daisy

UPDATE:  since I started this page the ASA have decided to investigate the Elvive ad because of the 'public reaction'.  so your donations have made a difference .
