Histiocytosis UK funds research into uncovering the causes of Histiocytic diseases. These include Langerhan's Cell Histiocytosis & Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis. Seeking early diagnosis, effective treatment and a cure as well as providing information support.

Story

On Sunday 18th September I will be running the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon for my friends’ daughter, Esme Carter or Bubby, who was just 22 months old when she died at Great Ormond St Hospital.

Esme had been ill for a while with terrible fevers and was finally diagnosed with the disease Haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis or HLH at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in May 2010.

Esme spent the next three months at GOSH having countless operations, tests and procedures. Tragically Esme wasn't strong enough to survive the treatment and her life support was turned off in the early hours of 15th July 2010.

Please sponsor me so that we can help other children with HLH, so they don’t have to suffer like Esme. Thank you for your generous support.
