Dan Cook, Sasha Cook and Sophia Stainer are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2013. Reaching the highest point on the African continent will be both mentally and physically challenging, but a challenge that we are all looking forward to. As well as enjoying ourselves, we want to raise money for the Tanzania Development Trust, a fantastic charity, where 100% of donations go to the projects they fund in the poorest regions of Tanzania.

We have chosen to raise money for a poultry raising project which will provide extremely poor households in Biharamulo district of Kagera with two month old vaccinated chicks. These will provide both eggs and meat for the families, who will repay the project either by providing fertile eggs to be incubated or cash from selling birds. This should make the project self-sustainable after the first year.

£1,700 will provide all they need to set up the project and run it for the first year and should benefit over 300 people in that period, mostly women and children.
