Although we all appreciate the great work of the Essex Air Ambulance its not until someone close to you needs their assistance that you realise quite how essential their services really are. As many of you are aware our close friend and Ryans brother, Paddy, had a serious accident at work. Due to the nature of his injuries it was imperative that Paddy was transferred to hospital as quickly as possible. Thanks to the fast response and skill of the Essex Air Ambulance crew, who helped save his life, Paddy was taken to the Royal London Hospital where he remained for 4 months having to undergo numerous operations. Thankfully he is now continuing his recovery at home. Paddy, his family and friends will be forever grateful for the services provided by the air ambulance that day.
The Essex Air Ambulance is a charity and is reliant upon donations from the people of Essex who give generously in order to keep the county's life-saving helicopter service in the air. Therefore as a thank you to them, we will be running 10 miles on Saturday 17th December 2011, and we need you to give generously to this cause. Many of you will also know that we are not natural runners (!!!!) but we are determined to complete this run.
Training is already underway and we are beginning to wonder how we are going to reach the finish line, however the more money we see raised on this site, the easier the last nine miles will be!!!!!!! We wouold like to thank everyone in advance for your generousity and will confirm the route nearer the time for any of you who want to come along and cheer us on.
