We’re helping people affected by cancer with their energy bills. Macmillan and npower believe that no one should face cancer alone.

After cancer treatment, you often feel the cold more. So, it can be a struggle keeping the home warm, with energy bills being one of the biggest worries for people affected by cancer.

Macmillan spent £2,870,037 on fuel grants last year, helping over 15,000 people affected by cancer to pay for their energy.

Our challenge is a circular route of 26 miles over varied terrain with over 700 meters of ascent over the whole distance.  It goes initially north of the Wall to see the “Barbarian’s View” of the Wall, then goes through forest and over common land before returning along the Hadrian’s Wall Path and National Trail. 

Our training for this so far has consisted of taking the stairs instead of the lift at work. So this will not be easy!
