Trekking up box hill tomorrow as part of this weeks training..... Twice I believe !

Updated on Apr 1st 2011 at 9:29 PM from the JustGiving API

Thank you all - so pleased of the support you are all showing!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

In the hope of raising lots of money for some deserving children’s charities, I will be attempting the national Three Peaks Challenge with fellow climbers Ryan Maskery, Matt Lovett and Phil Levett (and when we refer to ourselves as climbers, we mean this in the loosest sense possible!!)

The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon - in less than 24 hours. In total this includes a climb and ascent distance of around 26 miles, with 450 miles of driving in between!

This may sound crazy, but we’ve selected four deserving charities that will make it all worthwhile.  We’ve each chosen a charity with special meaning to us.

My chosen charity is Fight for Life (The BIG fight for the little people)

Fight for Life was formed in 1996 to raise funds to build a dedicated children's radiotherapy unit at the Middlesex Hospital, London. The Unit has now moved to a brand new dedicated cancer unit installed at the new UCH hospital on the corner of Tottenham Court Road and Euston Road.

The new unit was opened by Fight for Life's patron, Gary Lineker in January 2000. The unit is equipped with a state of the art Linear Accelerator radiotherapy machine, enabling treatment with the best possible precision and speed.  There is no other similar facility anywhere in the UK, with such a wide range of expertise and modern equipment. The charity has launched a brand new appeal for a dedicated PET/CT scanner which has just been installed and Fight for Life are committed to leasing costs over the next few years of at least £150,000 per annum.  With your help we can continue to support this BIG fight for little people……. Please give generously!!

If you would prefer, you can sponsor any of the other members of the team if their charity has a special meaning to you.  At the end of the day we’re all in this together to raise as much money as we can for worthwhile causes.  A link to our Team Page is below, and from there you can reach either Phil’s, Ryan or Matt’s pages. Their chosen charities are Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC), The Royal Brompton children’s hospital and the Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice…..Thanks again for your generosity!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
