Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Welcome to Mike, Dan and Jon's page.

We are raising money for flights to allow a 15 year old girl from Belarus four weeks respite in the UK next summer.

Viktoriya is a victim of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster and lives on contaminated land not far from the exclusion zone.

Viktoriya and her younger brother are brought up in a single parent family with low income. Mum earns just £115 per week. They occupy one room in a hostel, and their living conditions need improving. There is not enough money to provide a decent living for the children.

The disaster has affected Viktoriya’s health, she has a weak immune system and often suffers with respiratory diseases. Four weeks in the UK can extend Vitoriya’s life expectancy by two years so it's really important that we raise the funds to bring her over.

Over the coming months, we are going to be competing in various activities to raise awareness and money for our cause. Mike and Jon will be entering the Swindon half marathon and the Cardiff survival of the fittest contest (http://www.mhsurvival.co.uk/page36.asp) which will be televised on channel 4. Dan is taking the harder option of becoming the work tea boy for the day. More events to follow………..
