Ilkley Half Marathon · 12 July 2020

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Hi Guys,

In July, (hopefully) myself and a friend will be running Ilkley Half Marathon, coronavirus dependant! I’ve chosen Pancreatic Cancer UK and in particular, The Three Bears Foundation because of  a close friend of mine lost his Mother to the awful disease. I previously ran the Cardiff Half Marathon in 2018, for the same foundation and they all did fantastically well in raising a huge amount of money- so 2 years on from the last-very hungover- half marathon, I thought why not do another one and raise money for the same fantastic cause!

I understand given the current situations, money may be a bit tight for some, but any donation, of any amount, would be hugely appreciated and would go a long way!

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we’re taking it on. It is tough to diagnose, tough to treat, tough to research and tough to survive. For too long this disease has been sidelined. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need. We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight. Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.
