Dan's Zambia School project

Dan's Zambia School project · 29 May 2014
In May 2014 myself and 19 others from the BGL group will be going to Zambia where we will take part in Project Two - Kabaka Community School in partnership with Build it International.
The current school building is made out of sticks and grass, which is close to collapsing. There are 2 classrooms in this school, sheltering 258 pupils taught by 3 teachers. Not only this but, due to conditions, the school is not registered to hold exams. This means the children are getting a limited education.
There are health issues too, as there are no toilets which means the children need to go in a pit.
With our project we aim to raise the money to build a new 3 classroom block with a small teachers office. There will be a new toilet with wash basin with a fresh water supply.
I really want to do what I can to help provide better facilities and a better life for both the students, teachers, and everyone in this community.
Next year I will visit the newly built school and stay with the community. I would greatly appreciate any donations to the cause in my bid to raise £3,500. Every penny donated will be put to good use, and will significantly change the lives of people currently living on 80p or less a day.
