This won't be in some sleek, lightning-fast, carbonfibre Olympic fine boat. Oh no. It's a dirty great whaler made of wood and metal and other heavy things. Maximum speed 4-5 miles an hour. For those of you who are less mathematically gifted, that means 4-5 solid hours of rowing...

We're doing it for St Gemma's Hospice in Yorkshire, to support the fantastic work they do providing palliative care for the terminally ill. It costs £24,000 a day to run, so any contribution you can make will help.
