On October 30th 2011 I’ll be Zip Lining from the Tyne Bridge! Why? To raise money for Disability North!
I know that typing bank details into forms can be a bit of a pain, that’s why I’ve set up a text service! All you need to do is text “TYNE88” and then you donation to 70070, so for example
"TYNE88 £1" would be a £1 donation, simples! (Click on Read More!)
And if you would like to donate a little more, you can change the value of your donation to £2, £3, £4, £5 or even £10 for those of you feeling particularly generous... or particularly guilty for not doing your own charity zip line!
So if you wanted to donate a tenner, you’d text:
TYNE88 £10
And send it to 70070
The donation is then added to your next phone bill (or deducted from your credit). Now, all text donations are initially anonymous but they send you a link where you can add your name and/or message, technology ey!
(More details about text donations can be found here: http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/about-us/just-text-giving/just-text-giving-for-donors/)
I’m hoping to upload pictures and a video of the zip line on here, providing that I’m actually visible through the torrential rain (Let’s face it, it’s October in Newcastle, rain of biblical proportions is pretty much guaranteed)
I’ve set my aim to raise £100, though I’d love to smash that total! So any donations would be greatly appreciated! Oh, and If I reach may target before October 30th, I’ll do the whole thing in fancy dress… not entirely sure what costume, but do feel free to make any suggestions (@DanHedley) once you’ve donated!
