Children should be hungry to learn, not hungry for breakfast. Yet one in seven UK children face food insecurity. Magic Breakfast provides expert advice and breakfasts to schools in disadvantaged areas across England and Scotland.

Story

Hi,

I'm taking part in my first triathlon on 15 Aug 2010 - the Swanage Triathlon (1.5K swim in the sea, 40K road cycle, 10K off-road run).

I wasn't going to bother with sponsorship, but then I heard about the Magic Breakfast charity on the radio, and as my oldest son is just about to start school it really struck a chord.

"For one in four UK school children the only hot meal they receive each day is at school...the real problem is at the start of the school day, when many children arrive having had nothing to eat, some since the previous lunchtime."

This clearly leaves these children hungry, irritable, and unable to concentrate.

The Magic Breakfast currently delivers breakfast to 3,000 school children every day, making a huge difference to their happiness and future prospects.

Your generosity will allow them to continue this valuable work and expand their reach.

Many thanks for your support.
