The plan is to ride a 1000km through Central america... the details are further down the page.
The charity is the Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund* and they specialise in getting people with the illness out and to fun places that they may not otherwise see without the support.

November 5th : San to San
Starting in San Jose (expect bad puns on a famous song with that in the lyrics...) and ending in Guatamala City, you may wonder why the San to San nickname... but since that would have had a sub-optimal ring to it, and since we go through San Salvadore (in el Salvadore), the route ended up with a nonsensical name: San to San.
The trip is almost 1000k over 5 countries in two weeks. It will involve one bike and 3 idiot friends who are also up for the ride. We go through:
Costa RicaNicaraguaHondurasEl SalvadoreGuatamala
This is going to be hard.
We have been planning the trip for almost 2 years in between babies, weddings and banking crises and we are doing it 100% unassisted and off our own backs.
It's worth noting that there is a military coup going on in Honduras right now... but please don't tell my mum.
Just some of the prep includes Personal Trainers, Sports Masseuses, Weekly Spanish lessons and to date 6 group trips to a Brick Lane curry house to 'discuss' the plans.
Other training sessions have included:
August 22nd : Welsh 3000
This was a walking trip where we walked 52 Kilometers over each of the 15 mountains in Wales that are 3,000 feet or higher... and it's all done in one go. Average completion time is 16 hours.
We did it in 21.5 hours, here are some pictures of the group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wjmj9zzJEv8
This was one of the hardest things I have ever done.
August 28th to 31st : D to B
This was another cycling trip where some pals from Uni and I flew our bikes out to Belfast and then cycled to Dublin over three days before sampling the local guinness.
The eagle-eyed amongst you may be wondering why this isn't entitled 'B to D'... There's a crap story about why, you can ask me if you want, but it's not worth your effort!
* The vague reason behind the choice of charity is that the first person who made me get off my ass and go on an adventure of my own has the condition, and since I more than likely would not be doing this at all if it wasn't for that person; I may as well see if I can raise a little money to help others with Cystic Fibrosis do similar trips to that one from back in the day.
