Another city, another Marathon. This time it's Tel Aviv, the place where we decided to make our home last August. A right and privilege shared by all Jewish people around the world. A right that is protected each day by Israel's young men and women, often at great cost.
I am running the Tel Aviv Marathon to raise money for the Benji Hillman Foundation (through JNF). Major Benji Hillman was killed in action on 20th July 2006, at the beginning of the second Lebanon war. An outstanding leader of men who cared deeply about the soldiers under his command, survived by his wife of 3 weeks Ayala , parents Judy and Danny, sister Abigail and brother Shimon.
The Benji Hillman Foundation (BHF) was established in August 2006 by Benji’s family and close friends in his memory. The aim of the Foundation is to continue Benji’s legacy of caring for his fellow soldiers, by building ‘Ha’bayit shel Benji’ in his home town of Ra’anana. A warm home and guidance centre for lone combat soldiers and soldiers from underprivileged families, for use during their service and for the initial period after their army service.
I have been training for the marathon for the past 2 months and will be running the Marathon on the 8th April.
Thank you for supporting this cause, you are my inspiration.
