Story
HURRAY - I DID IT! Slow, as expected, but done and dusted in 2 hours 45 minutes. A blister and sore legs to show for it! But I am so pleased with how generous and supportive everyone has been - thanks so much for all the sponsorship!
On Sunday 17 October I am doing the Cardiff Half-Marathon. It is a personal challenge, which I hope to be able to rise to - being a very slow runner, my only aim is to finish it!!
I thought at the same time I would try and raise some money for Alzheimer's Research Trust. As many of you know, my Grandma and Grandad both died in January. Grandma was suffering from Alzheimer's, and until less than a month before he died, Grandad was caring for her, with all the challenges that involves. Grandma was one of the luckier ones, in so far as she still had some 'good' days, but the many bad days highlighted quite what a horrible disease Alzheimer's is, both for the sufferer, and for the loved ones, like Grandad and Mum and Dad.
Therefore I will be running in their memory and would be very grateful for anyone who felt able to sponsor me, so care and support can be provided to those living with Alzheimer's whilst behind the scenes they continue to try and find a cure or better drugs for to manage it.
Thank you very much x
Dani and family
