We are 5 lunatics undertaking a Rickshaw Run across India in order to raise money for Cool Earth, a charity dedicated to saving rain forests. We intend to drive 2 rickshaws (7 hp) across the subcontinent starting on September 6, 2013. We will have no map, no hotel reservations and no plan. We'll be breaking down in the middle of nowhere, relying on the generosity of strangers to help us (since we know nothing about 2 stroke engines). We're also relying on YOUR generosity to support us in raising $3,500 for Cool Earth. There are about 50 other international teams being challenged to do this in the name of chairty so help us out!

Might you ask, "What do rain forests have to do with India?" Although the majority of rain forests are in South America, India has some too. More importantly, unlike Las Vegas, what happens in other parts of the world, does NOT stay in that part of the world....it affects the entire planet. Plus we want to ensure our kids have somewhere to go hiking and get lost, so we need the rainforests.

Or you may think, "Isn’t that just blatantly hypocritical, driving cars and saving rainforests?"

Well, certainly no more so than someone getting all hot under the collar while reading about this on the internet, on a computer, using electricity, breathing, probably wearing clothes, having eaten food and, we’d put good money on it, having farted at some point in their life. If you look at it like that, the ONLY non-hypocritical approach to environmental impact is to commit suicide (but make sure your body doesn’t decompose and release any methane).

This is about doing something with a blindingly positive impact for some of the most interesting and important peoples and environments in the world. The microscopic amount of carbon produced from taking part in an adventure is negligible in comparison to safekeeping the planet’s best locations for getting lost.

When you donate, don't worry about getting a bunch of spam from  this organization, "Just Giving". We hate spam too, so rest assured they'll never sell your address or send you unwanted emails.
