Sportability provides FREE sport for people with paralysis in the UK. People with spinal cord injury stroke MS and others are now able to enjoy a range of sports - microlight flying gliding sailing archery angling quadbiking canoeing shooting 4x4 driving BloKart sailing wheelchair tennis and more.

<div><strong>The Jump</strong></div> <div><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></div> <div>I had a fantastic day! Jumped at 1.00pm with a brill instructor who&nbsp; talked me through it all first.&nbsp; Then I&nbsp;was lifted in to the plane and &nbsp;strapped to his front.&nbsp; It took around 20 nail biting minutes to get to 13500 feet.&nbsp; Then out we jumped.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>Free-falling at 120 miles an hour for about a minute - what a feeling that was!&nbsp; Then he opened the parachute and we floated down for about 1-2 mins and came to land very smoothly with 2 great&nbsp;assistants&nbsp;on the ground to lift my legs.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>So a big&nbsp;thank you&nbsp;to&nbsp;all Sportabily &amp; The Team&nbsp;for giving me the&nbsp;opportunity to do this!</div> <p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>You can still sponsor Dan and your donations will&nbsp;make thrills and excitement available to other people with paralysis, helping to turn them back on to life!&nbsp; </strong></p> <p><strong>xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Some years ago Nottingham based&nbsp;<strong>Daniel Asher </strong>suffered a horrendous spinal cord injury that left him paralysed in his arms and hands and from the waist down.&nbsp; Through sheer grit and determination he has re-built his life.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>His passion for&nbsp;sport lead him to <strong>Sportability</strong> and he was an&nbsp;<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">avid participant in Charity's&nbsp;West Midlands programme of events.&nbsp; He&nbsp;was so inspired by the experience that he contacted the Charity to take&nbsp;over as&nbsp;our events organiser for his 'homeland' of East&nbsp;Midlands.&nbsp; He's&nbsp;intent on bringing sport to more people with paralysis and has been instrumental in running a programme of canoeing,&nbsp;quadbiking, archery, sailing and&nbsp;other sports in the&nbsp; East Midlands.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Now he wants to raise more money for more events in 2012.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">How? &nbsp;By leaping out of an aircraft.Dan is skydiving with the British Parachute School&nbsp;at&nbsp;Langar, south east of Nottingham.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">His aim: To raise fund for Sportability and create awareness of the possibilities.&nbsp; He fully subscribes to the Charity's credo of taking the dis out of disability and focusing on ability.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">He says, "If by my&nbsp;example we can get more&nbsp;people&nbsp;get with paralysis out of their wheelchairs and into sport, it will be worth every hair raising moment."</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">Please support Dan in supporting Sportability - your contribution </span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">really counts..</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.</p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><em>Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
