Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a World Rally Champion, Richard used all his energy and focus on his passion for driving. When diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 32, he used that same mental strength to fight his illness and live life to the full. He faced his disease with the same attitude that he displayed on the world’s rally stages: showing bravery, intelligence and single-mindedness.

However he devastatingly lost his fight 2 years later.

Richard’s strength and determination throughout his illness were an inspiration to me and everyone who knew him.

After his death, the Richard Burns Foundation was set up by some his closest friends and colleagues as a lasting tribute to his memory. A gentle and brave Champion.

It aims to help people and families who are forced to face the ordeal that Richard did. The Richard Burns Foundation aims to help people with Neurological disorders, whether it be epilepsy, brain tumours or dementia in the elderly. The UK hugely underfunds Neurological disorders. In 780 hospitals across the UK, only 30 have specialists units. Clearly not enough which is where RBF plans to help.

It was a previlage to know Richard and call him my friend. So please please please, no matter how small or big, please dig deep and donate now.

Also, don´t forget to come and support me on the day! As I have no idea how I´m guna run 13 miles!
