Lands End to John O'Groats Cycle Challenge · 26 July 2010

Honeypot’s vision is for every child to make the most of their one chance at childhood. Since 1996 we have been working to enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young carers aged 5-12 years by providing residential respite breaks and on-going outreach support.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 26th of July I will set off on a challenge of a lifetime, cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats, on my own and unsupported. In total I will cover 1,000 miles, and aim to achieve 100 each day.

I am doing this to raise money for the Honeypot Charity, an organisation which provides respite and long term support for young carers and very vulnerable children. Honeypot gives children who spend all of their spare time caring for a sick or physically disabled adult or sibling, as well as looking after the household chores the chance to be a child.  These children do not normally ever have time to play, go on an outing, learn to ride a bike or swim,  but they do have the chance to enjoy all these things and more at Honeypot House in the New forest. In addition to an annual holiday Honeypot provides out reach to each child in their home community, with visits from the Honeypot Playbus, Christmas presents and birthday cards. For these children, Honeypot gives them the opportunity to relax and create positive childhood memories they can keep forever.
