Story

Our team have decided to take on the challenge of running a 10k in Manchester on 24th June 2012 to raise funds for Mesothelioma UK.

Mesothelioma UK is a national resource centre dedicated to providing specialist Mesothelioma information, support & improved care and treatment.

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos dust. Our work at John Pickering and Partners has shown us how aggressive and devastating this disease is for victims and their families.

There has been very little research carried out into how best to treat Mesothelioma.Treatments available do not offer a cure and survival is usually measured in months rather than years.

Unlike other more common cancers most GP's and community nurses will never care for a patient with mesothelioma and outside of specialist centres, hospital doctors and nurses rarely come into contact with the disease. Yet perhaps more so than with other types of cancer, when Mesothelioma enters an individual's life either as a patient, family member, or friend they have a desperate need for up to date information about the best treatments, the benefits these can offer, where to access treatment, how to control and cope with pain and breathlessness, prognosis, survival and how to maximise their quality of life.

John Pickering and Partners LLP only act for claimants and specialise in obtaining compensation for those with asbestos related diseases. We know that every penny raised will go to a very worthwhile cause that can make a real difference. So we ask you all to please dig deep and give what you can.

Thank you!
