Story

At the end of July I completed the Brownsea Island swim - which is 6.5km around Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour. It was a beautiful day and a great experience - just under two hours swimming in the sea without a wetsuit. A few months before swimming for more than 20 minutes in Richmond pool was an effort, so all the training definitely paid off!

I was swimming to raise money for St Stephen's School, the local CofE primary school that Jemima and Arthur go to in Shepherd's Bush. The Friends (parents/carers/staff) of the school do many great fund-raisers but there is always something else the school needs, so this is my little contribution to the pot... I can only put one charity down on Justgiving but also want to support Actionaid in its amazing work with the poor around the world - so am giving a sum equal to 10% of the total I am sponsored by you lot to Actionaid after the swim. (It's kind of biblical...)

With the total at £1300 in September, that means I've sent them £130 already - so dig deep and make me do the same!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks so much!
