At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Time for another challenge and another chance to raise money for a fantastic charity. I will be cycling from London to Paris over three days in memory of my grandad Ernest Wilson and also my good friend Laura Gourlay.

Thank you guys for all the support that you gave me last year during the Coast to Coast. I managed to raise over £500 for Macmillan which was matched £4£ by Npower and the team raised over £20,000. This year we are hoping to smash that and I have set a target of £750.

Below is the day to day itinerary so you can see I wont be just jumping on the tube and drinking Chateaux Neuf Du Pape for 3 days.

Day 1 (Thursday 14 July): London to Dieppe

Breakfast at around 7.00am. Hand
over bags to the support vehicle

We’ll then gather at an iconic
London location and have a quick photo-shoot

Then we set off on the 60 to 70
miles (depending on route) to Newhaven

Packed lunch will be provided,
along with snacks and water (*you will need to supplement these)

We’ll be travelling through the
picturesque Sussex countryside, the Garden of England

Cyclists and the support van will
catch the 17:30 ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe (we need to be there 1 hour
prior)

We’ll eat dinner on the ferry
crossing

Arrive in Dieppe at approx. 22:30, cycle
approx. 2 miles to Hotel Brit, Dieppe for the night

Bikes secured by support team.

Day 2
(Friday 15 July) Dieppe to Beauvais

A continental breakfast will be
served at Hotel Brit, Dieppe

Snacks and water* will be issued
to all participants prior to departure

We’ll head along the Avenue Verte
cycle track in the morning

A lunch and water stop will be set
up along the route

We will be passing through several
quaint French towns and villages

After circa 75 miles we’ll arrive
in Beauvais, accommodation for the evening will be the Kyriad Beauvais Sud

The
evening meal will be arranged in a local restaurant

Bikes
secured by support team

Day 3(Saturday
16 July) Beauvais to Paris

A continental breakfast will be
served at Kyriad Beauvais Sud

Snacks and water* will be issued
to all participants prior to departure

A lunch and water stop will be set
up along the route

We’ll be rewarded with gorgeous
views of the Champs Elysees with the Arc de Triomphe standing proudly in the
distance.

After circa 55 miles we’ll arrive
at France’s most famous landmark, the Eiffel Tower.

Accommodation for the evening will
be the Avalon, Paris.

Thank you for all the support and help that you give and lets not let anyone face cancer alone. I will be running raffles at work to help raise funds so if you can donate a prize please get in touch.
