Story

Hello everybody and welcome to my Just Giving page!

I am raising money for the RSPB by cycling from London to Wales approx 220 miles.

The RSPB Appeal is called ' I'm on the sea's side ', which is aiming to set up reserves or special designated areas in the sea.  By doing this they will be helping a wide variety of marine life such as puffins, cod, dolphins, crabs and whales.  The reason is that many of these animals are not protected and often end up the victim of trawlers or fishing nets.  So please help these animals to secure a better future.

Are you on the sea's side?

Cycle ride 12th August to 19th August

12th August visited Rye Meads  Great reception  - saw 3 Green Sandpipers and a young Egret as well as many young Tufted ducks.

13th August travelling to Princes Risborough but held up beyond Wheathamsted due to puncture.  Spent the night near Harpenden .

14th August travelling to Oxford now 60 miles to make up for yesterday.  Arrived safe but tired.

15th August to Otmoor reserve saw Red Kite, Godwits more Sandpipers and many more species.  Travelling to Banbury this afternoon - weather dry hurrah!!!  Yesterday very wet.

16th August Travelling to Stratford-upon-Avon.  Before we leave Banbury we are visiting the RSPB Regional Office at Banbury Cross.  Dry journey to S upon A - refreshments provided on route [thank you Elizabeth].

17th August slight change of plan as the boiler has packed up in our accommodation for tonight so now cycling to Bromsgrove via Redditch through Arrow Valley Park - nearly there now!

18th August Cycling to Bridgenorth via the Wyre Forest.
On arriving at the forest we were advised not to go in as we'd never come out!  We took a different route.  Today we stopped off at Hartlebury Castle - lots of fun and great weather.

19th August - final slog today over the Long Mynd and onto Pentreheyling hope to be there in time to put my feet up relax and watch the football match!

We made it - what a fantastic journey - we got the mileage wrong though, it was 288 miles!
