Great Wall of China Trek Challenge · 8 October 2010

St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people with a progressive illness. Our work centres around individual needs, with specialist support, wherever required, at home, in the community or at the hospice. Each year the hospice needs to generate £12m, of this 70% comes from the local community.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Unfortunately Claire had to pull out due to health issues, however I completed the trek and arrived home last weekend.  I walked over five days in five different locations encountering different terrain along the way.  I travelled with another 60 charity trekkers, everyone had their own charity and story to tell, and it was extremely moving to hear the reasons to what led them to China to raise money.  Collectively the whole group should raise over £100,000 all for excellent causes around the country.

I also want to make it clear that we are paying all travelling costs and all the proceeds will go directly to St Elizabeths.

St Elizabeths Story - St Elizabeths services include an in-patient unit, day care services, Hospice at Home and family support team.

St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent local charity and all of our services are provided free of charge. In total it costs £5.9 million each year to run the Hospice, of which 77% is raised by our supporters.

It is the support of the local community that enables St Elizabeth Hospice to continue providing the highest standard of care to our patients and their families, friends and carers
