Story
For those of you who know me well, you are probably re-reading exactly whose page this is and can't believe it's actually me who is going to be "running" the New York Marathon on November 1st.
The training is going well & I have now entered my "Monster Month" of training. I did a Half Marathon (13.1miles) in Central Park last weekend (Oct 3rd) which was tough, the hills were bad enough the first loop of the park let alone the second! You have to love the Americans and their enthusiasm, I had only just crossed the start line with people saying "Good Job" and "Way to go" which brought a smile to my face everytime I heard it which was a lot! I was lapped by the elite runners at my mile 3, their mile 9. I was pleased that I overtook a few people, albeit a 70+ year old woman and a man with bandages on his knees and ankles! Attempted 18 miles this weekend in Abu Dhabi but with the heat and humidity only managed 13.5 - I wont be doing a marathon over here, ever!
I am running to raise money for Parkinsons Disease Society and any donations are greatly appreciated. I also get Firm matching which will double the amount shown here.
Less than 3 weeks to go!
