You may know I work at Cellular Solutions. By 2017 we shall have raised £1/4 million+ for charities. There are just 38 of us here.

Starting on 3^rd June 2015, I shall be taking part in a 1,000km team office bike ride along with 15 other work colleagues, where we’ll be cycling for three days in a race to travel the length of France. Meanwhile ten of my colleagues are cycling 265KMs each from Orleans to Poitiers actually in France! This is all to raise money for my chosen charity RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blindness) which is close to my heart, along with 9 local hospices and The Rockinghorse Appeal

We have already raised over £111,000 and in this “stage” we are looking to raise a total of more than £30,000. So with your help this event will help take us over the £140,000 mark.

For my personal fundraising target I am looking to raise £100 for RNIB (The Royal National Institute of Blind People).

RNIB is a UK based charity for people affected by sight loss. Whether you’re losing your sight or you’re blind or partially sighted, their practical and emotional support can help you face the future with confidence.  They help raise awareness of sight problems and how to prevent sight loss, and campaign for better services and a more inclusive society.

Their work covers

• Emotional and practical support
• campaigning on a range of issues from preventing sight loss through to better transport services for blind and partially sighted people
• supporting others through a range of products and services
• offering training, education and learning
• employment and education services
• promoting accessible services

For those of you that know me well, this is something that has personally had an impact on my life and is therefore close to my heart.  You do not quite realise the significance of something as precious as your sight until you don’t have it. I would like to support this charity because I think the work they do is really commendable and can really make a difference to people’s quality of life.

Cellular Solutions will also match like for like any funds we raise up to £5,000. Every donation will help towards this figure that will make a significant difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. Every penny donated goes to charity and not towards the costs of the event thanks to sponsorship of the event by one of our network partners.
