We provide advice, advocacy and support to help anyone with a mental health problem

Story

Starting on 16th May 2019, Iam taking part in a 302km bike ride (equivalent to more than 3 back to back London to Brighton’s!) along with 11 other work colleagues, where we’ll be cycling from Bergerac to Toulouse in France. This is to raise money for my chosen charity Mind in Brighton and Hove, along with 9 local hospices and The Rockinghorse Appeal through sponsorship from our company’s
clients.
For my personal fundraising target I am looking to raise at least £600+ for Mind in Brighton and Hove

Over the past few years the Cellular Solutions Team have raised well over £180,000 – so with your help this event will help take us over the £210,000 mark – with the aim of reaching £250,000 by the year after next from our cycle fundraising, which will see Cellular
Solutions Team having cycled the length of France!!

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem each year, yet it is still a massively underfunded area
in public health that contributes to so many other social issues, for example crime, unemployment, homelessness.  The number of conditions that the mental health umbrella encompasses is vast but there is still a massive stigma around many of these issues. This can lead people to suffer in silence or fail to get the support they need to help overcome their mental illness, often exacerbating their symptoms and leading to feelings of desperation, fear, anxiety and further stress.

It is now widely recognised that your mind is just as important as your physical health (if not more) and severe stress is often responsible for other serious health problems.  Research shows that it can increase the risk of early death however interestingly as a society we often don’t give our mental well-being the same level of attention as we might a physical illness. Awareness needs to be raised!

Mind in Brighton and Hove works to promote good mental
health in their city and across Sussex. They seek to empower people to lead a full life as part of their local community and have now developed into a significant provider of mental health services in Brighton and across Sussex. They are an Independent charity and though linked with National Mind they receive no funding from them, relying on local donations.

They provide a range of advice and information, advocacy and support services to anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They also work to improve local services, raise awareness and promote mental health and well-being through a variety of means.

Cellular Solutions will also match like for like any funds we raise up to £5,000.  Our overall total fundraising target for this event is £32,000. Every donation will help towards this figure that will make a significant difference to those less fortunate than ourselves. Every penny donated goes to charity and not towards the costs of the event
thanks to sponsorship of the event by one of our network partners.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Every donation makes a real difference to Mind in Brighton and Hove and it would mean an awful lot to me if you would be so kind to help further their cause. Thank you!!
