I am going to be battling through ice, fire, mud and steel at the Tough Mudder race on 6th May to raise awareness and donations for Mind - the Mental Health Charity.
Mental health affects everyone, whether you directly or through a loved one. Each year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem, and so raising awareness of this and helping fund research and support can have a huge impact. I personally have experienced a mental health problem in the past, and so I am taking on the Tough Mudder challenge for myself as well as the many others like me.
The Tough Mudder challenge isn't called tough for no reason! I will be running 12 miles - almost a half marathon - and in between doing some pretty horrendous looking challenges like jumping into an ice pool and running through electric fences.
