The Williams Syndrome Foundation was formed in 1980 and is run by parents for parents of children with this rare condition which causes heart and kidney problems and learning difficulties. It desperately needs funds to finance its ambitious research and family support programmes which include national conventions and regional meetings.

Story

When I mention to people that we are planning to jump out of an aeroplane, the first question we're usually asked is, "Why on earth would you do that to yourselves?!"

My cousin Joseph has had a real rough time in his little life. He is just six, and when he was two he was diagniosed with WIlliams Syndrome, a rare genetic and therefore incurable condition that affects heart, mobilty, communication, development and renal function. In short he has learning difficulties, and will have all his life.

Joseph has undergone several major operations, including life saving open heart surgery at Great Ormond Street, and whilst he goes from strength to strength, this is largely because of a fabulous charity we support called the Williams Syndrome Foundation.

It is thanks to hospitals like Great Ormond Street and the Williams Syndrome Foundation that Josephs parents can remain sane. Williams Syndrome is a little heard of condition, and the pioneering work at the Williams Syndrome Foundation gives familes, such as Josephs a lifeline of support and advice.

And now I get to the point. On 14th May , myself and Alysia will be jumping out of an aeroplane. Whilst this might sound an exciting thing to do, it scares the willies out of both of us, but its well worth the mind numbing fear if it means that the Williams Syndrome Foundation will continue to support families in so much need of assistance.

If you could sponsor us (Did I say we would be jumping out of an aeroplane) the money will be going to an absolutely amazing cause, one which I have come to care deeply for, and knowing I’ve got such support behind me will be sure to help us through the challenge we have set ourselves.

Please PLEASE sponsor us, and on May 14th, spare a thought for us as we jump with nothing but string and silk to brerak our fall

Thank you Xx
