Hi Everyone!

 

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As some of you may already know, I'm going to be taking part in the Bournemouth Bay Run 2010. It is a half marathon along the seafront of Bournemouth. The run will be taking place on Sunday 28th March 2010 and I would really love it if some of you were able to make it there to spur me on past the finish line!! I will need all the help I can get!!

Why am I doing this some of you may be wondering...

I'm hoping to raise money for a very good cause, Julia's House is Dorset's only hospice dedicated to caring for children with life-limiting conditions. The majority of children that Julia's House care for are unlikely to live beyond the age of 18. The dedicated team at Julia's House work so hard to enrich the quality of life of these children and their families and ensure that they are able to make the most of the precious time they have together. The hospice provides all of its services free of charge including respite care at the day centre or in the child's own environment, round-the-clock care, specialist activites and therapies, parent and sibling support and much, much more. This cause has touched my heart and has really made me want to do something to help. As some you know I have never been much of a runner and this is going to be a BIG challenge for me, but I'm determined to cross the finish line! I have been training hard and hoping to finish in a decent time!

I'm hoping to raise as much money as possible but the minimum I am aiming to raise is £200.00. This would make a real difference to Julia's House who only receive 3% of funds coming from the government. They solely rely on donations to enable this vital help to continue.

I understand that money is particular tight at the moment and some people will not be able to afford to give a donation but if you do have any spare change it will be going to a very good cause and will make a huge difference to the lives of very poorly children and their families.
