Mud Pack Challenge 2017 · 15 October 2017 ·
Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page for the Mud Pack Challenge, and giving money to the amazing Hospice of St Francis. Our team includes Anna Sale, Emma Gazeley, Jasmine Kirby, Emma Watkins, Danielle Clark, Caroline Convery, and Chanel Crawford.
The Hospice provides free, expert care for people living with life-limiting illnesses. As an employee there for over 10 years, Lawrie Sale (Anna's mother) saw first hand the wonderful care and support that they provided - ranging from giving medical care, practical advice and emotional support to help manage their condition and maintain quality of life. After being diagnosed with secondary breast cancer, Lawrie herself is a patient of the hospice. She has been a Homecare patient, had physio sessions, and exercise classes. In addition counselling support has been offered to her family.
Other friends and family members including May Peverill, who suffered from COPD, were made to feel at ease through physical and mental support from the Hospice. She maintained a good quality of life until she sadly passed after counselling, rehabilitation, and respite stays.
The hospice relies on voluntary donations to raise 80% of over £5 million needed annually to fund this incredible free care. Our team, Gazeley Fitness, aims to raise at least £1000 by running through an extremely muddy 5-mile obstacle course. Please make sure we're not doing it in vain by donating whatever you can on this page. Gazeley Fitness, and most importantly, the patients of the Hospice, thank you immensley.
