British 10K London Run 2009 · 12 July 2009 ·

The Bromley by Bow Centre works in Tower Hamlets helping some of the poorest communities in the UK. They work with young and old, families and people with disabilities. They help people to break out of poverty by supporting people to; look after their health and wellbeing, gain vital new skills, find employment and make positive changes in their lives.

Story

Thanks for taking a look at our JustGiving page!

This Sunday, Chris and I will be running (or rather Chris will be and I will be doing my best and may elect to skip in a Disney character type manner) the London Asics 10K. You might be thinking.... "Isn't it slightly late to be asking for sponsorship when you're running this Sunday?". You would be completely right. All we can do is hide behind our busy jobs and hope that you'll still find the time to dig deep and donate to the excellent cause we are running for..... The Bromley by Bow Centre.

Although we're no longer "Eastenders" ourselves, we'd really appreciate your support in helping us to support this amazing cause. If you can even spare a few pence (or pounds if you're feeling really generous) Chris and I, and especially the Bromley By Bow centre would really appreciate it and put any donations to fantastic use!

Please please please donate asap as we're running on Sunday!!!!

ABOUT THE CENTRE

Chris and I first heard about the Bromley By Bow centre via Rothschild's connection to the centre. The centre does incredible work in helping some of the poorest families in the area, helping people to get into employment (which is 3 times the national average) through learning new skills, helping tackle chronic ill health, encouraging enterprise and the move away from dependence on grants and benefits, and other things to help regenerate the area and stimulate the community. This short description only really scratches the surface of all of the excellent work they do, with a huge range of projects focussing on different aspects of the community regeneration. For a fuller (and probably more eloquent!) description of everything they do, please visit their website which is http://www.bbbc.org.uk/.

Now the practical bit.....

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
