Story

Hello!

I'm running in the Great South Run on Sunday 25th October 2009 in aid of the Hampshire Deaf Association.  The money raised through this run will go towards of a number of projects and activities that support deaf children and young people.

One of these projects is Fun 4 You, a playscheme for deaf children, which like many charity projects during these hard times has recently come into funding difficultly   It's common for deaf children to say  "when I grow up I'm going to be hearing" or "what can deaf people do when they're adults?" - because many deaf children simply don't get a chance to meet deaf adults, they are often confused about being deaf and don't understand that they have the same opportunities as hearing people. Fun 4 You is run by inspiring deaf playleaders who are really focused on teaching children about what they can achieve in life and how to overcome certain barriers and challenges that they may face.  Sponsorship money from this race will ensure that invaluable schemes like this will be able to continue.

I would like to thank everyone for their donations.

I did the run yesterday and it was one of the hardest things i have done.

I feel that i have challenged myself all the way.

My final time was 2:28 which i was very happy with.

All the money will go towards Fun 4 U Playdays.

Thank you!

Dan
