Daniel is Kelly's gorgeous nephew. She is so grateful for the wonderful support the charity have provided Daniel, Emma, Phil and Dexter. She just wanted to do something to show thanks for the charity's work and ensure that others can benefit from the same support. The pelynt ladies run together each week and were all really keen to be part if this support too.
Daniel was diagnosed with leukaemia in August 2012 at the age of just 18 months. Daniel was first diagnosed with low risk leukaemia but in December 2012 he relapsed and was put into a high risk protocol which required long stays in Oxfords John Radcliffe Hospital while receiving high dose chemotherapy. He then had to have a bone marrow transplant in Bristol Children's Hospital, where he spent 4 months. He has since had a stem cell transplant, more chemo and continues still to battle this horrific disease. Both Oxford and Bristol are an hour away from Daniels home in Swindon.
CLIC Sargent have been a great support to Daniels family, the main contribution being in the form of free accommodation close to the hospital. Only 1 parent can stay with Daniel in the hospital, the CLIC house has meant that both of his parents can stay close by, thus reducing travel costs and the stress associated with a round trip of 100 miles per day.
Please help to support this fantastic charity and ensure Daniels family, and others in similar situations, continue to receive this fantastic support. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
