The reason that I personally am doing this ride is to help support the British Heart Foundation.

As some of you may know my father has had a history of heart troubles. Over the past twenty years my Dad has had 6 heart attacks. Along with this he has had to endure a triple bypass operation and more recently he’s had to have a stent put it after two heart attacks in the last few months. This was due to the fact that one of the bypasses had completely blocked again. After hearing this and after some discussion with some guys at work we decided to give this challenge a go to try and help support the BHF and the work that they do.

Unfortunately the site of my Dad lying in the hospital bed when he had his bypass operation will be something that I doubt I will forget so I want to try and do anything I can to help them.

There is obviously a double benefit for me doing this ride, the first of which is to help the BHF and the second was to improve the strength of my heart. I have a family history of heart issues and if I can help the BHF to help me in the long run then I’m happy to do so.
