Story
Dear friends:-
A jog around London's lovely parks?
A brand new T-Shirt too!
Enthused, I read the brochure more
And thought - that's what I can do.
My choice of 'cause' was easy,
My charity I hold dear,
Reading of children in suffering
Will always bring a tear.
And so my friends here's my request,
And I hope that you'll hear my plea,
Please sponsor my run to help UNICEF
and don't give a thought to my knee(s)!
I've decided to challenge myself by running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on 10th October 2010 to raise money for UNICEF's campaign - Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS Campaign.
The campaign has 4 main objectives:-
* prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV
* provide treatment for children living with HIV
* prevent infection among young people
* protect, care and support orphans and otehr children affected by HIV and AIDS
With this campaign every £ counts and makes a real difference - just £31 can provide an HIV test for a pregnant woman and the medicine that can stop a child being born with HIV and £13 can provide an HIV test for a baby. Therefore, if you are able to make a donation, no matter how large or small then it will quickly add up and make a difference.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you would like more information on the campaign visit www.unicef.org.uk
Thanks in anticipation for your support,
Danny
