I am NOT running a marathon but I AM going to Delhi for 2 weeks in October to work with a charity called Asha. I'm self-funding and all money raised will go directly to the charity. It costs just £185 for a year of University fees and Asha wants to send 5000 young people in the next 5 years. I'll be working with teenagers who want to go to University - helping them with their confidence in presenting themselves and improving their English (and my Hindi?!)
I'll be travelling with doctors, nurses, a physio and 2 teenagers from our Church. Asha is working to encourage young people to stay at school and has been supporting a group into college; an impressive way to provide them and their families with hope for the future. Funds that I raise will be used by Asha to employ more village nurses and to support teenagers' education. £25 buys books for a year for a student!
