We completed the ride leaving Lionel Street, Birmingham at 7.15am. We arrived at St Johns Gate in London in the pouring rain at 9.30pm Glad to have finished. It was a long day, made worse by the wind and rain but great fun also. My Cycle computer clocked it at 117 miles.

2012 Sponsored Cycle Ride - Saturday 28th April 2012

Start - Lionel Street, Birmingham

Finish -  St John Gate, London

Total - 117.5 miles

Last year we did our longest ever ride to raise money for the Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. That was 95 miles and on the tandem. It wasn't easy but we raised a lot of money thanks to all our friends.

This year having only just joined St John's Ambulance last year and qualified as Cycle first aiders last week we have decided, foolishly possibly, to join in their sponsored ride.

Except it's not going to be on any of our own lightweight bikes that we are so used to but on St John's heavy duty bikes with those huge panniers.

And it's a long way. But it's a worthy cause so please donate again and offers of massages will gratefully be accepted too.
