Balloch to the top of the Ben (Lomond) on 02/06/2012 · 2 June 2012

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our kids football club is now a little over 1 year old, with more than 70 kids spread over 4 mixed gender age groups, ages from 5-9.

Every year we plan to do an event to raise money to help sustain the longevity of our club and split the proceeds of a worth while charity.

Our chosen charity this year is the Yorkhill Childrens Foundation.

Coaches and parents are walking from Balloch to Ben Lomond, tackling the mountain up to the top before making our way back to Drymen. We are all doing this wearing fancy dress. The Mankeenie, the buffon wigs and super hero's will be out to scare people witless and hopefully raise a few smiles along the way.

The inspiration for our charity choice comes from one of our young players who received the wonderful medical care whilst undergoing treatment for a Brain Tumor.

Jack, a wonderful, really likable, couragous young lad, who is a pleasure to coach and a wonderful team mate, and the reason why we chose this great cause. His fight against cancer is nothing short of amazing. He is an inspirational lad, who has great heart and wonderfully proud parents in John & Janice.

The 2003 age group can thank Jack for starting off the trend of giving the kids nicknames, of which we have some belters, which will live with them for years to come. Its great to hear at training and match days.

So thanks Hammy. The first ever Haldane Charity Event goes to your charity.

I'd appreciate it if you, friends and family can help a great cause and donate. It doesn't need to be a huge amount. Every little is appreciated.

Thanks

Darren
