Too many families like mine have experienced losses to cancer, even in children. It's a hideous illness that shows no mercy and I want to do what I can to help those going through the battle.  The fact you're here reading this means you'd like to help too, so thank you so much.

I'm attempting to race across deserts, mountains and entire countries and will continue to do so as long as it raises vital funds and awareness for Anna's Hope.

Next up: Patagonia - Glacier to Glacier across glaciers, mountains and icy seas against winds up to 75mph, Starting at the Viedma Glacier, 2 days on foot, 220km by bike, and 50+km of sea kayaking to hopefylly reach the famous Perito Moreno Glacier.

My challenges however are nothing compared to what many children and families have to go through when diagnosed with brain cancer.  In 2006 after a 15 month battle, Carole and Robert Hughes sadly lost their beautiful little girl Anna to a brain tumour at just 3 years and 8 months old.  Since then they have devoted themselves to helping raise funds and awareness to provide more help for other children and families facing such horrendous circumstances.

Anna's Hope is an amazing charity devoted to providing better care and facilities for children and young adults with brain tumours. They aim to help patients and families from the point of diagnosis, during treatment and throughout rehabilitation. Brain cancer is 'the forgotten cancer' which has the second highest death rate of any cancers in children and cases have actually increased by more than 10% in the last ten years!
