Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi All,
As most of you will know my father, Colin Victor Lloyd, unfortunately lost his battle with bowel cancer on Friday 20 November 2009.
Dad was a very athletic man throughout his life enjoying all sports whether it be football, cricket and in his latter years golf.
As everyone who knew my father will know that he was a very proud man, he fought his illness for 17 long months but eventually it got the better of him. And to be honest there wasn’t much in life that got the better of him in life, of which he was very proud of!
What a lot of you will not know is that my wife, Gemma, unfortunately lost her Auntie Barb just 2 days previous, also to cancer. So when Gemma came up to me and told me she had signed us up for this event to raise money for charities, I thought why not?!! Okay that was my second reaction, my first was you must be joking!!
I have chosen the Bobby Moore charity due to the football connection and I like to think that dad would be pleased with this.
I would like to raise at least £800.00 for this charity so it can help with the fight against this awful disease, which took my father prematurely from us all. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, whether you give a £1.00 or £100.00 it all adds up and I am extremely grateful for anything you can afford.
Remember to tick the Gift Aid Box so we have an extra 28p for each £1.00 given.
Many thanks for your support.
Darron
P.S. Gemma is donating to The Marlets charity for Barb and I to Bobby Moore. Either way it goes to the cancer charities but please sponsor whoever you wish your money to go to, or split between both. Here is a link to Gemma's page http://www.justgiving.com/Gemma-Lloyd0
