This is my biggest challenge to date and also as a team member so please read more and any sponsorship would be really appreciated and help me to get to the “End” supporting the NSPCC giving some children a better future. 
I am Dave Allen JCB Attachments UK Sales Manager and I am 46 years young with 24 years service with JCB.
My comfort zone is in a pair of running trainers as I have been a keen runner since leaving school, this started by wanting to keep fit but I soon realised that my competitive attitude could be put to good use improving my personal best times. I have since recorded a number of best times at a range of distances from a 1 mile race in 4:16 to a marathon in 2:46.06 on the road; I also have really enjoyed cross country representing Staffordshire 5 times and in 2010 became British master’s National team cross country silver medallist.
I have also put my years of running knowledge to good use after work as I ran a “learn to run” group for 2 years, this was for total none runners helping them to achieve something many considered to be unachievable or even enabling them to complete their own charity runs.
I have enjoyed the opportunity to raise money for charity doing some events that really challenge my ability in 1988 I ran my first London marathon for the NSPCC raising over £500 and following many smaller fund raising activities I joined a JCB team to compete in the 2000 Three Peaks Yacht race raising over £10,000 for the NSPCC. My last challenge was our London to Paris cycle ride with the JCB Attachments team in 2010; we had great fun doing this event as well as painful sections due to long days and bike seats but again were successful in completing this in 50 hours from start to finish raising over £5,000.
2012 brings new challenges to us all but for our team at JCB Attachments we have planned our 2012 Lands End to John O’Groats cycle ride and we would really appreciate any sponsorship you can give us which would help to reduce the pain again of long days and saddle sourness, this will be our toughest challenge to date and successful.
