Fundraising for THE CHRISTIE CHARITY
Story
My name is David Beers and 3 friends and I are to embark on an exciting challenge in May, all in the name of charity!
The lads and I are all between the ages of 22 and 25 and we, along with 64 other teams, will be taking part in the 'Barcelona Bangers' charity fundraiser this coming May. The idea of the challenge is to drive from our hometown in Middleton to Barcelona in 3 days.
It is an organised event in order to make some money for our chosen charity. We want to try and earn as much money for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust as we possibly can. We chose to do this because a childhood friend has been struck twice with skin cancer and we have seen first hand just how important somewhere like Christie's can be. We just want to do something to help. At the moment, we are working to get businesses to sponsor our team by buying sticker spaces on the car (which is a Volvo estate) which would then advertise your services and businesses as we drive. Once these sponsors are in place, we will be stickering up the car, which will carry the business' advertisements across 1195 miles before we reach Barcelona. The car will also be used prior to the race, and before it, enabling us to reach their audiences as we drive to work and back etc. Two of us are mechanics for big firms in Manchester, and the remaining lads work in Middleton and Rochdale areas, which would give their brands amazing coverage across their local area.

So that we can raise as much money as possible, we are also asking businesses to place charity buckets in their foyers or receptions, to give the public a chance to throw in their lose change.
