Brighton Marathon 2011 · 10 April 2011 ·

AFK is a disability and neurodiversity charity providing support to children and young people across the UK. We assist young people in accessing specialised mobility equipment that isn't available on the NHS and routes to paid employment in an effort to close the disability employment gap.

Story

Hi

It was fantastic running in the Great South run in October 2011 but it hit me that the task wasn't ridiculous enough, so I have come up with a challenge that has long been an ambition of mine - to run a Marathon!!!

I have seen the training schedule and this, for me, is a once in a lifetime opportunity

The marathon I have chosen is the Brighton Marathon on April 10 2011 and will be running for the charity Action For Kids (Towards Independence

Those who know well me know that I have a child with disability and so the work this charity does is very close to my heart.

This charity helps children and young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to find a greater level of independence and opportunity through the provision of appropriate aid and support.

The key for me is that not only do they help the people who are directly concerned (worthy enough) but also help the families who are all too often forgotten when consideration of help/aid is made

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

I will be creating a blog in the near future so that you can keep up to date with my training and aches and pains - I will send details once I have set this up and promise not to moan (too much)

Thanks

Dave
