Hope Cycle Challenge - Scotland 2010 · 9 May 2010

We have funded over 100 research projects tackling many forms of cancer. In 2012 we opened a dedicated clinical trials centre at Leicester Royal Infirmary to offer patients access to new medicines and therapies. We also fund two nurses who add to the care and support trials patients receive.

I'm cycling across Scotland in May 2010 - 350 miles...and before agreeing to do this I'd never cycled more than 15 miles so it's quite a challenge, particularly as its not flat in Scotland!!!..... I'm doing this for a charity - Hope Against Cancer. The Hope Against Cancer Charity was launched to raise funds for research into the causes and treatment of cancer. Since 2002  the charity has been able to appoint two PhD research posts, two clinical fellowships and three Allison Wilson Fellowships, a one off grant for consumables. The charity has just announced the fifth Allison Wilson Memorial fellowship and also the first Nursing Fellowship - all dedicated to the fight against cancer

You can find out more about the charity on the left of the page.

As for me - I've got a few months of training ahead of me through the winter - so your support will be a great encouragement. We'll be cycling up the infamous "Rest and Be Thankful" Climb as well as up Glen Coe so training will be essential.....and I'm sure will be hard
