As you are probably aware I will be deploying to Kandahar at the end of October for 6 months. I have therefore decided to attempt the 24th Munich Marathon and raise money for 2 worthwhile and pertinent charities, Afganaid and SSAFA. On this site you can pledge your support to an excellent yet lesser known charity, Afghanaid.

Afghanaid has worked alongside Afghan communities for over two decades. They currently work directly with over 500,000 adults and children focusing on long term sustainable development in rural areas.

£15 per month provides a pregnancy care kit for up to 12 traditional birth attendants
£150 can offer education facilities for 45 Afghan children
The £500 that I am trying to raise is sufficient to build a resevoir that will provide a village with clean drinking water.
