In January 2009 I weighed 24 stone 13lbs!! Since then, and especially since September 2009 when I joined Slimming World, my weight has been steadily dropping and my fitness steadily improving. I am now a shade over 17 stone (mid-April) and should be less still by the time the Nightrider takes place in June.

Up until now I have been exercising only to lose weight, but now I have to switch my attention to training for this event. The route is 100km (just over 62 miles!!) and will be held overnight in London. I have never even cycled 20 miles let alone over 60 so I really need to put in a lot of training between now and June 19th!

I am raising for Kent Air Ambulance (and not just because I may need them during the event!!). KAA has to rely entirely on charity fundraising as it doesn't receive funds from anywhere else - which in my opinion is shocking considering how important a service it is.

Please dig deep, and sponsor me as much as you can afford. Every penny helps :-)
